The Unconventional Methods of Conversation invites the audience to participate in using a series of art objects designed by the artist with the intention to stimulate different kinds of exchange. The objects are based on everyday objects or situations, reimagined and remade to simulate exchange among people. Each object is designed with a specific set of instructions on how to use them, and by following the instructions; the participants live as art in that moment of exchange with the other through the object.

 

The Unconventional Methods of Conversation is an observation on social relationships, physical communications and the nature of exchange, and the reinterpretation of them with fun in mind. In a fast paced competitive society such as Singapore, social relations and exchange have become less personal and regarded in the everyday as a result of the urbanisation of Singapore.
