SgSon was developed as a commentary on the local culture of Singaporean men and their legal obligation to the nation’s defence, as Full-Time National Servicemen (NSFs) and Operationally-Ready National Servicemen (NSman). As part of the local society, SgSon is a series of photographs from the perspective of the artist, as he discusses the different roles and identities that he has chosen to take on, juxtaposed with an identity he is obliged to take on, as with every other Singaporean men.
